Permeabase®
Permeabase® Transdermal Cream Base is an oil-in-water off-white vanishing cream specially formulated with Chemical Penetration Enhancers (CPEs) to assist with the penetration of high percentages of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) for optimal transdermal drug delivery.
Description: Ready-to-use, time-saving compounding vehicle, compatible with a broad range of APIs, to prepare topical medications in cream dosage form.
- It retains its consistency with a wide variety of APIs and solvents.
- Its hydrophilicity and lipophilicity support both water and lipid soluble drugs.
Qualities:
- Smooth and soft, non-greasy, vanishing cream, providing an exquisite skin feel, helping improve patient adherence.
- An elegant alternative to traditional PLO bases (Pluronic Lecithin Organogels).
- Does not require the use of an occlusive dressing.
- Mineral oil, petrochemicals, parabens, and petrolatum free.
- Methylisothiazolinone and Methylchloroisothiazolinone (MI/MCI) free: this combination is widely used as a preservative; and has been associated with allergic reactions. Health Canada states that a product containing MI/MCI should be wiped off skin immediately after use, and therefore should not be used in a cream intended to stay on the skin.
